Being a voice for Putnam County residents.
Helping Putnam County's students, teachers and community is at the top of my list. So many students need more support, better access to free and reduced lunch, and policies that give them the support and opportunities they deserve. I will advocate for our students above all, and work with our teachers and service personnel to make sure they thrive and feel supported.
Strengthening education and opportunities for our children.
As a veteran public school teacher, my fifteen years in the system have seen many changes to students' curriculum, teacher preparation/certification, standardized testing, and resources dedicated to WV Schools. Many of those making the decisions for our children have never stepped foot inside of a classroom. As someone who has taught in a private school, public school, Title I school, and as an adjunct professor at a university, I believe I can bring real world experience to the decision making for Putnam County's educational procedures and policies.
I WILL NOT BE A RUBBER STAMP.
I am not afraid to speak up or speak out. I will not stand by without standing up for what is right on behalf of our students, teachers, and service personnel. I will make sure our community is heard whether it is the popular perspective or not. I will not vote the same as everyone if it isn't the right vote for Putnam County. My only special interest is students, school employees, and Putnam County citizens.
